The Sunday Telegraph: July 2014
ProLandscaper magazine March 2014 A short article highlighting the renovation work that Peter is undertaking with 'Living Landscapes' at St Peter's Church in Walworth, London. St Peter's Church was built in circa 1825 in the neo-classical style by Sir John Soane. In 1895 it had its graveyard converted into a park and small zoo for the local children by the parish priest Father Horsley. Since then the 'Monkey Park' as it became known has had a long history as a resource for the local community. Unfortunately in recent years the forecourt surface suffered from flooding and the gardens have become overgrown in some areas and barren in others. The forecourt has been renovated by Living Landscapes in February 2014 and the church is currently seeking charity funding to institute the garden renovation to Peters plans later this year. The plans will restore the planting in the garden whilst ensuring it is still a fun area for children to play. The plans also include opportunities for the local community to garden in the space. |
